The Testimony of Islamic Texts
- Neither Christians nor Jews are to be taken as friends, but rather seen as enemies
O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya’ to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya’, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust).
- Jesus will personally — and explicitly — end Christianity and Judaism at His return
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary (Jesus) will shortly descend amongst you people (Muslims) as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya (a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government). Then there will be abundance of money and nobody will accept charitable gifts.
Muslim Objections
Of course the Muslim will likely object by citing “peaceful” verses from the Quran, or by calling us “Peace of the Book”. Unfortunately, those so-called “peaceful” verses were written earlier in Muhammad’s career as a cult leader, and therefore are abrogated by the later, more violent verses against us.
In fact, there’s a name for this in Islam: the Law of Abrogation. Blue Letter Bible has an excellent article on how this doctrine works.
In the case of Surah 5:51 (quoted above), it was written nearly last, and is therefore the final word on the matter: Chart of Chronological Order
P.S. Violent Verses and the Law of Abrogation
Conveniently, the verses which explicitly command the general killing of non-believers are also written last.
Conclusion
Islam singles out Judaism and Christianity as targets
